The context
Lebanon is facing a humanitarian crisis initially provoked by socio-economic challenges, rising rates of unemployment, poverty and collateral damages of the Coronavirus pandemic. Since October 2019 and moreover after the Beirut blast, youth presence and active commitment either on personal volunteering basis or through youth organizations was noticeable, providing all sorts of civic relief.
Within this context and following the August four Beirut blast, all youth living on the Lebanese grounds – without exception – have experienced unprecedented levels of stress and even trauma and would need to benefit from immediate emotional relief arising from the overall situation along with a sustainable approach to address vulnerable youth and growing community needs.
This publication is made possible with the support of the American People through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
