Good health is essential to a productive economy. Illness can lower learning ability, reduce job productivity and lessen the chances of populations to rise out of poverty.
The SSVP Conferences aim to medically assist the poor in many ways; providing access to primary clinics, distributing medicines, and whenever possible, covering part of hospital in-patient fees. Patients’ medical reports are submitted to the SSVP Medical Committee that reviews them on a case by case basis.
Several medical specialists offer their services pro-bono in clinics of the Society. Patients pay a symbolic sum in return, where services differ between eye care, bone densitometry, dental care, abdominal ultrasound, basic blood tests, electro-cardiograms …
